Global Tempo Synchronization

This is one of the main part of Usine. It will drive all the synchro parameters in modules.

Concerning the cycle parameter, imagine it as a kind of loop setting, as you would do with two markers in a traditionnal sequencer.

Cycle Length

Number of bars in the cycle.

Cycle Position

This indicates the current position in the cycle.

Total Bar Position

This indicates the total bar position of the sequencer.

Bar Length

Number of beats in the bar.

Beat Position

This indicates the current position in the bar (beats).

Tempo

Global tempo. The tempo value can be set to any value from 0.01 to Billions of Billions bpm but the display range is limited, and can be modified in the Global Setup.

  • Normal range: from 30 to 300 bpm.
  • Huge range: from 1 to 800 bpm.

Tempo /2

Divides the current tempo by 2.

Tempo x2

Multiplies the current tempo by 2.

Tap Tempo

Enables you to adjust the tempo by successive taps.

Restart Cycle

Restarts the synchronization to the beginning of the cycle.

Synchro On/Off

Switches ON or OFF the synchronization.

Auto restart

When this option is activated, the synchro restarts automatically from the beginning of the cycle when:

  • the synchro is switched ON
  • the main audio engine is switched ON (space bar)

SMPTE Clock or Bar position

Time elapsed in SMPTE format (HH:MM:SS:Frames) or current Bar position according to the scale mode of the sequencer.
